Airline tyre inflator

Can anyone recommend a decent airline tyre inflator with a half accurate gauge that will last longer than the cheap carp from lidls and eBay etc? £60 or less ideally.

If your only issue is the accuracy of the gauge, change it for a better, more accurate gauge.

It's not the only issue, hence the question...

I have an accurate handheld gauge and a couple of broken airline attachments. I may as well replace them with something that gets me to the right ball park rather than a different field.

I bought one of these for my truck. I have the long hose variant though. It’s a good one, I put a cable tie round it so it constantly stays on whilst I do other things. Probably not advisable if you’re doing car tyres though.

Ha - next question though - clip on or hold on connector?! Too many choices. The rubbish I have at the moment is clip on that you have to hold on!

I have three of those PCL inflators and they all read differently, according to my digital tyre pressure gauge by as much as 10psi.

I use the one where the whole outer case slides on it. Keep it lubricated and it slides easily.

I was going to say this. My PCL gauge (not the inflator) shows about a 5psi discrepancy but that is at 130psi which I’m sure most people here aren’t going near. Also it’s a discrepancy across the board. Not like all over the place on each tyre I inflate. I did wonder if I could calibrate both but 5psi here and there at that pressure isn’t an issue for me.

On the trucks I use these lever valve clip on jobs, line pressure in the yard is set and I use the digital gadget to check.

My MK4 seems to be accurate - or at least agrees with my other pressure gauges.

I suggest you get the single clip on style, I got the twin clip on one and had a lot of issues with it not sealing, even after being replaced by PCL.
I swapped the end to their older version of this style and it has been fine. Not sure how their new version compares but I'd avoid the twin clip and hold on variants.

Mine doesn't agree with two of my other gauges that do with each other, but only by a couple of psi.

I’ve got a pcl mk4. It came with a hold on, which works fine, but lorry tyres take to much effort holding it on so I bought a twin clip on fitting for it, which works absolutely fine, no leaks at all for over a year.

i knobbled my pcl tire inflator 40 tears ago from a garage forcourt so was well used when i got it. i lost it for a week and then found it . yea it fell in to the pit full of water blew it out and squirted a load o wd 40 in . checked its accuracy on 2 other gauges and its accurate used it loads of times since only thing new was the hose and the push on double conector

I have a pcl mk 4 which is great. Don't buy the pcl digital display one it's terrible, eats through batteries

PCL mk 4 with clip on valve connector arrived courtesy of a kind offer from @northwest upon seeing this thread. The gauge reads dead on the same as my calibrated PCL gauge that I keep in the car.

Glad you like it, I was feeling pretty bad about it as I bought it and never used it as my Milwaukee cordless inflator was bought about the same time and I use that for everything now.

Really pleased it has gone to a good home.

Nice one, sorting Reb78 out with the PCL inflator.
Obviously you are liking the Milwaukee, which one did you buy, the M12 or M18?
I only have a couple of M12 Milwaukees and some of the reviews for the M12 inflator are a bit ' would be better if it were M18' so I have heald off the idea of getting one
