Airkos Helmet Charging

Good evening,

I was given an airkos helmet and it's excellent. It had no charger so I got a universal charger allowing the 8.4v but even after a 12hr charge battery is still only showing 6v

Used it for few hours but now only get few mins before shut down as batt low

Anyone have issues similar or does the original charger have to be used?

£62 for a generic Chinese power supply... wow!

Nothing complex-looking about that: 8.4v, 1.5A, positive tip.

Is the charger you got able to deliver 1.5A? If it can then I'd worry about your battery.

ya same spec, checked with mustimeter too, just a universal multi volt charger where can set voltage range

Left it for 12 hours as its 1.2amp not 1.5 just allow extra time

Only item i can see been an issue is the 18650 batteries, may need a specific lion charger

The price is mad for them

I have ordered a li ion specific charger and if that doesn't work I'll buy new charger and batt

Get the battery rebuilt. There are quite a few companies offering this service and it will be a lot cheaper than a new battery. You will probably be able to fit higher capacity good quality Samsung cells too.

Good idea must ask around locally see if anyone does it

see if you can take the battery case apart and have a look inside?

could will have one dead cell in it.... even more likely if it's been left flat for a long time

That is a strong possibility as lad had it unused for long time
