Air tag detection

Seems from what I have read here that an Air Tag can be easily detected by a person other than the owner so really if anyone sticks one onto one of your vehicles, you will be alerted to this. Not really something I would use to keep covert track of my stuff as it appears that everyone will be aware of the Air Tag.
I use a Vodafone Curve on my bike.

That’s how I read it. The only caveat I can see is that it’ll only alert you if you’ve got an iPhone which is set up to know about AirTags. I may be wrong.

If the tag is an android or vice versa it won’t help I suppose.

The other option is run a 3G jammer in your store? I’ve got one off Amazon. Sometimes it’s handy to turn trackers off with. Apparently they’re illegal but no one will know. Anyone who even notices will just think your store is a black spot.

Going from the link posted by j1nex it looks like they are now sharing info and an android phone will now alert you to the presence of an airtag and vice versa

I had notification from vodafone to say they are switching off the 3g service, does that affect these gadgets

I don't think it affects the airtags as they use Bluetooth.

I've got several card payment terminals that run on 3g, supposedly a one-off payment for a "free for life" service but they won't work any more...

The Tag must work out if you are friend or foe. My sister has them on her Dogs collars, she can leave them her and go to work and it doesnt alert me, on my ipad.

Do wonder if thats because I dont move.
