What is the laser brake rewind tool like? Contemplated one a few times in the past and not sure if it is just a bit of a gimmick?View attachment 288588
You can see how small the 3/8" air ratchet is compared with other air tools I have.
They're a good piece of kit, especially if you do anything with directional calipers. Far easier to use than screw type tools. What is the laser brake rewind tool like? Contemplated one a few times in the past and not sure if it is just a bit of a gimmick?

I use a 1/4 drive ratchet for the smaller stuff, cars and motorbikes, also with the cordless,Battery one will be too big to be of any use.
The thing with these things are - you need to get them into a tight space where you can't throw a ratchet (how ever many teeth the ratchet has - the more teeth the less angle of throw you need).
This is the reason I have a flexi trailing air hose on them - the PCL fitting/chuck makes them bigger and thus useless.
I have a CP7748, it's a really good gun, at one point I think it was the most powerful 1/2" impact gun on the market. Nice and light too. I bought a boot for mine but not many places stock them. One thing to be aware of is I'm pretty sure they have a 1/4NPT inlet instead of a 1/4BSP. You can do what most people do and winch a 1/4BSP in there or do it properly and fit a 1/4NPT. I run a whip hose on mine so I just used a 1/4NPT hose barb and fitted a PCL XF on the other end. I use Silkair VG22 oil which is slightly thinner than I was using before and it made a difference to this gun. Thanks for the comments … seems like they are a bit Marmite like.
I suspect I shall leave it for now and pick up one when I see a bargain!!
Just ordered a CP7748 which looks like the optimum 1/2” drive impact wrench for what I need.

If you read the instructions on many air tools it says they should be fitted with whip hose, all of the CP tools I've bought new have this in the instructions. It does make a difference to the way they feel as the extension to the tool is only 25-30mm instead of a probe and coupling
I've got a long neck Snap On battery ratchet and that will get in places you can't even put you hand.
The problem with whip hoses, is instead of just the hose moving across panels, you inevitably end up dragging the connector across/catching it on panels.
You can get ones specifically to not do that.its fun when you drag the 15mm long hose over something and the conector relieses itself and puts the sh..ts up you
