Thats my sort of house work! Most effective way I have found for de-dusting a room so far is put a fan blowing out of a window and go around the room with a leaf blower sending all the dust towards the window. I do the living room a few times a year (mostly dog hair and heavy dust) but I've got a cordless fan & blower so it's a quick job. Plus it's justification to the missus for having the fan & blower in the first place...

I just open the windows and doors on a real windy day. Even lazier. Most effective way I have found for de-dusting a room so far is put a fan blowing out of a window and go around the room with a leaf blower sending all the dust towards the window. A few months back I was chatting to a window washer who was cleaning next doors windows, he was telling me about the several Harleys he has, a few Jap bikes etc. I asked if he could do my windows, but he said he was fully booked, didn't even have time for a one off bungalow wash. I'm guessing it earns him some very good money.....I found when living on my own years back after 3-months the house didn't get any dustier and the windows any dirtier, in fact they cleaned themselves periodically.
