Air Fuel Ratio Gauge

Went out in the car last night did some country lanes 40/50 is mph the AFR was just going like the vid but hopped on to the by pass 70/80 ish it settled down and play ok ? was showing a bit rich which I have all ways thought.
Iv fitted the sensor about 10" from where the 3 branch joins [V6 Essex].
Can heat affect the reading would anybody know ?

They've got to be hot too work that's why there all heated now

They recommend at least 18 inches downstream of the exhaust port (or Turbocharger if fitted).

Ideally you need a sensor in each downpipe that you can switch between quickly. The two banks can be VERY different, especially if someone is unaware of the importance of balancing the carburettor.

You will not get a sensible response until it is good and hot, most sensors have a heater built in to quickly bring them up to temperature.
