So which ones would you buy...assuming they are available?
No idea
...but this thing can't even cook half-decent chips, let alone all the other things they're supposed to 'fry'.
I've tried hotter, colder, longer, shorter, but the usual result is hard as nails on the outside, half-raw inside and tasting like a polystyrene ceiling tile (I imagine).
Maris Pipers all the wayHave you tried a different type of tattie? I find Maris Piper or Roosters best.![]()
Plenty of ways to cook, we all like different things. For me 9 times out of 10 I'd have chips with my steakBobupndown wrote:
My wife bought me (herself) one for Christmas a couple of years back. Apart from preferring something more car related for presents it is really good and get a lot of use. It's very quick and convenient. Last weekend I was left unsupervised at Saturday tea timeand so had to fend for myself. Cooked a steak, mushrooms and onions in a traditional pan. Peeled and cut proper chips, boiled them for 10 mins, dried them then whacked them in the air fryer with a little oil for 20 mins. The nicest chips I have tasted in ages
Bob,
As most would have been cooked, like yours, elsewhere than in the ‘air-firer’, I would likely do the whole meal by having boiled tats instead of chips. Maybe even a couple of croquettes from the freezer instead of boiled tats.
That would mean all mine could be cooked on gas - at much reduced cost than electricity. The way I like my steak would mean the whole meal could easily be arranged to be ready at approx the same time.
We lightly cook the steaks on both sides in the preheated air fryer , take them out & let them rest whilst the chipped parboiled ( 4.5 min ) spuds are being done ,Bobupndown wrote:
