Your link leads to a Gerson mask thread - the products I am talking about use a form of oil-less compressor to pump outside air into a mask for breathing so that filters etc. aren't needed.
360 dollars even if that converted to £360 over here it would still be about the cheapest way to get a air-fed mask and not worry about running huge compressors.
I've been considering one too. Even thought to have a go at making a diy version. To me they seem a much better idea than a compressor and all its problems.
A few years ago i considered getting one for GRP laminating as i was using a lot of rather stinky vinylester resin. In the end i used 3m spraying respirators.
Still surprised nobody seems to be marketing turbine kit here as it seems to be ideal for many applications especially if you dont have a high enough output compressor.
I wouldnt import one from the states, Its bad enough getting a £12.50 "handling charge" on top of the shipping, duty, import vat on a few guitar parts.
Imagine what royal mail would sting you for something heavy & expensive like one of these!
Got one of these about 5 years ago, was about £400, worth every penny IMO, saves breathing smelly air from your compressor and also takes the load off it so you have plenty of cfm for your gun.
I have wondered if there is anything special about the turbine other than hepa filters, as plenty of good output turbines with adjustable airflow are available and look very similar. The mask itself would be pretty easy to get in this country. Just never plucked up courage to try it.
