how have folks made these? Struggling to find any ideas / detail pictures etc

These aren't like the ones one picture I posted, need to work out how the work/ made internally

They are only simple butterfly valves, a disc of steel and 2 holes through a tube for the spindle

simple things really the captive nut would need to be set further back though

Looks like a simple threaded stud going into a captive nut. I assume the nut is fixed to a strap inside the flue pipe. The round baffle has wings fitted to keep it aligned as it screws in and out of the pipe.
