Don`t belive it mate........That SNP crap is a protest vote riding on the wave of Blairs upopularity. A lot of people in Scotland still think British. What is the point of fighting side by side in the last War to separate now. Scotlands strength is in the Union. Salmond is a Joke.......one of the reasons he got in is because Mconnell was an amateur of the highest order. You could have got more sense out of Oliver Reed when he was drunk on Parkinson......rant over

My missus was at a Scottish Arts council reception at the Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. Her and her buddies were sitting around sipping their wine, and a bloke she knew came up and introduced this man called Jack McConnel to her. She said "what do you do?"

Actually Alex, I'm mostly English. Me mam's from Brum and me dad's from Anglesey, and i've only lived in Scotland for 11 years, and I am BRITISH, and for what it's worth, proud of, well, something...

I also like the French, have friends from the US, Germany, NZ, Aus, Spain, Portugal, Chile, Holland, Poland, West Indies, Pakistan, India... in fact as I live in such a cosmopolitan country, I am proud to be cosmopolitan. Vive la differance and all that. We're all people, the only sods are the politicians and bankers, who are obviously the spawn of Satan. (edit, sorry, forgot to include cockneys in there. I was raised in Brum, so have to say that!)

What dyu mean? Is Scotland cosmopolitan? Edinburgh is.

My point anyway re Alex's 'the scots don't like the english', then inviting me to respond was - don't include me in that. And most anti English scots are just ignorant - they think posh people are English, working class are scots. They think its nationality, not class. Scotland is one of the richest countries in the world (per capita), unfortunately it's a tiny minority of predominantly scottish people who own the vast majority of the wealth. But don't get me started...., please!

Just got back from Edinburgh - i.e Castle, Princes Street, Zoo etc. Top place and nearer the sea than i thought. Didn't see yer boat tho Si!

The Union flag, Fwiw is a Union jack only when it's flown from the jack staff, which stands at the bow of a boat, the flag on the back is an ensign. If you see the union flag anywhere else, its exactly that - a union flag.
