Mr Nice But Dim

Hi all. Well where do i start.. I know not much about welding, but am learning fast.
Reason why, cause my car need an exhaust to be fitted. My old Pipe was getting long in the tooth, so i bought a Stainless complete system. But bugger me the dam thing is too short, to match up with the down pipe. The reason is, that i have a VW golf Mk1 cabrio 1.6 Carbed version. No one made stainless`s for that model, always the GTI. The down pipes are different.
So i would spend some money and buy somthing that I always wanted for a long time. To save money in the long term, and not asking a garage to do the work for me, whilst my shirt was still on.
I bought a SIP 130 Turbo migmate , not a duel version. second hand off a guy who says it only a couple of years old and only done two sills. The condition looks ok.
Got some new tips/shrouds and some throw away bottles to practice with. I have been reading all the tutorials on this site and tried loads of diffent weld patterns, high amps low amp. wire speed. I can now weld on stainless with the proper wire and gas.Perhaps not as neat as you guys.
also have been looking into getting a supply on gas. and have read he posts on BOC and not impressed with the prices. Just for me to do small jobs it aint worth it. The small bottles are ok, but dont really last too long. So i thinks, why not use just gassless wire. Ahhaa i says i got a Gas MIG. OK so whats the difference in the welders. Firstly, on the SIP 130 i need to set the polarity the other way round. Second make sure the roller 0.8 has a knurl, and yes it does. Cool. Right then so i go down my mates who has a gassless clark and see how the wiring is done.
Easy peasy i can do this my self with a bit of modification to the torch.
all i need is the two twist connectors for the front of the welder. Mod the connectors to them and rewire the common on the torch. So when i get 30mins to my self without the other half bothering me.. i will get on and do it.
Then to see if it works with gassless wire.
What ya think? if it works well, some one could make a Upgrade kit for just gas mig welders.
Any how this is my first post to say hello too!
