Age, Stupidity or Both

Took my wife to hydrotherapy.
Went to a small market town, walked the high street twice, and entered a few shops.
Then went for lunch at a market garden, followed by a 4 mile walk over beautiful countryside.
Thought something doesn’t feel quite right.
Bent down to tie my laces.
Then realised I was wearing odd shoes

Well you're not alone! I lose my cheap readers all the time. I usually tuck them into my collar and they get hooked off by branches when working in the garden, sometimes ending up in the garden recycling bin or found weeks later hanging in a tree! Because of this I have achieved saturation point of cheap readers in the house so that I always have a new pair to hand. It's quite common for me to try and put on a pair of glasses over the ones I am already wearing, or ask if anyone has seen my glasses when they are on my head. I once asked this question when I already had glasses on my head and a pair in my collar!

I bought a pair of shoes from Brantano when it was closing down. I checked the sizes were the same (one in the box, one on top of the box) as did the person on the checkout. It wasn't until months later when I was standing in the pub and looked down and noticed that they weren't a pair - one had a much squarer shape to the toe than the other.

I've hunted for my mobile phone a number of times whilst having it in my hand...

It can't be age related - I remember when I was about 16 I was looking everywhere for my bike spanner. My brother was laughing at me as I was getting so irate - had it in my hand all the time! I often do silly things like put the milk in the cupboard and the coffee jar in the fridge etc. Head in the clouds it is normally called

That's why they make breakfast cereal boxes the size they are - so they don't fit in the fridge. I've tried a few times.
