So, just a couple of clips of my rebuilt 4age 20v blacktop, early days getting it running, I still need to install the wideband lambda sensor and tidy up a few things.....in the second clip the idle kept dropping; Tunerstudio showed me the dfco cutting in, turning it off has cured that. Now it's idling at 2500rpm, so I still have work to do...

Well I've driven it... Learning all about standalone engine management systems and chasing gremlins recently

.... It's still not running properly. I've had a guy tuning it remotely from Greece, but fuel pressure problems meant me changing the fuel pump, filter and then regulator to no avail.
Looks like the ó-rings that I fitted when re-installing the injectors weren't up to the task. Anyway, onwardz

Not very many left on the road; I was overtaken by one last week, but it sounded like he was having similar running problems, farting and popping like an Elbonian firing squad, and a horribly sooty tailpipe.

Lots of cars round here like that, they seem to think it sounds good. One Golf sounds like a machine gun on the over run. I don't see the appeal but then again I am old.

@pedrobedro 35yrs ago I had a Triumph Spitfire with a 2.5PI engine and minimal silencing. Loved the sound and could listen to it all day

Fast forward to now, I have a 4l Jeep Grand Cherokee, it also has minimal silencing and it's embarrassing, probably because it's very good at turning petrol into noise without the performance you'd expect

I did this back in the day but now prefer silky smooth silence, must be getting old …

Silent but deadly is best in a car I think but the bike is another matter...
