On thursday i should be going to Iceland for 5 days but ive been the doctors tonight and the doc has said given my condition i should not go. Now heres the awkward part i have no insurance for this paticular trip so could i claim any losses through my credit card which paid for the flights for the wife and i.

Do you bank with Lloyds as they include free travel insurance on their current accounts.

Natwests current accounts sometimes have benefits, I know when I got mine they offered the silver or something one that had free insurance etc.

if not, you could try selling the tickets on Gumtree? or the bay.

AFAIK you can only claim on your credit card if the supplier defaults, your condition isn't anything to do with the airline or whatever you are travelling with.
