Advise on TIG Welder

I really, really wanting a TIG welder, but they a soooooo expensive.

Would like a DC/AC but money will not stretch that far.

Anyone got thoughts on the Machine Mart machines?

I've been looking on flea-bay, but sorting the good from the rubbish from the indifferent is proving a but tricky.

It will be used for hobby work, car fabrication, general bodging etc

You would be better off with the FUSiON 130MA machine, www.inverterfusion.com
Similar price to the Clarke 155 with a better spec. British made by Inverter specialists & a two year parts & labour warranty.

Go with the fusion units, spot on bit of kit out of this world duty cycle, nice smooth weld in either TIG or MMA. Mine is the 200PHF which is a bit costly for diy use about £850 with VAT and Tig torch etc, but has plenty of bells and whistles so to speak and is a HF start.
Stay well clear of cheap chinese inverters, they are generally poorly made and spare are a nightmare

I have been reading the forum sections about TIG welders. You mention the Fusion unit that you have, and WeldEquip has commented on it too. I am after an AC/DC unit for ali and stainless, and have looked at the Fusion website listed in this thread. Any idea what the price is for a retail buyer for the new 210 AC/DC model listed on their web site?

Why doesn't their web site have any prices on it? Do they adjust prices depending on who is asking, or are they just too high to print?!?

I think the AC/DC fusion unit retails about £1600-1700 but im not absolutely sure,would be best to pm weldequip

Many manufacturers don't list prices online, as differing currencies often causes headaches. Also it prevents accusations of direct selling.
