advice wanted

i've got a budget of £200 to get a mig welder, just wondering whats the best welder to get for that price, i know where i can get a clake 151en for £200 but didn't kno if it was the best to get also any one kno where i can get gas argon/co2 cheap around the bristol area, any idea and coments are appreciated

there's a sealey 170 in swindon ....in trade-it for £150 ....don't know what they're like ,or min and max amps ,there's a few members in bristle who may be able to help with gas ......and hello ! Gav

the clarke machine seem to have a reputation on the forum, certainly in terms of value for money and build quality. The bottom amp range is normally 30amps which is fine for car body work, spare are easiliy available which is another good point.

Unfortunately the is no such thing as cheap gas, but there are companies that do bottles without rental, but the gas is a bit more expensive than the likes of BOC or air products. Many use CO2 as its cheaper, but weld quality isnt as good as an Argon/CO2 mix

hello and welcome. Another vote for the Clarke as for the gas there is a thread in the gas section for suppliers. We also have a member GASMAN who supply he might have someone local but probably rental.
