Hi All..
I need a little lathe and really wish to know what to go looking for and what not too..
Having said that, I'm open to advice so maybe a milling machine instead.... ?
I've only a small workshop but don't want to buy something that's inaccurate or flimsy..
Are these little clarke lathes any good... Or would I be better getting an old lathe which requires some tlc.. I've nearly finished re building a cincinatti pillar drill purchased for £125 with some faults just been offered a grand for it.. No was the reply..
So, I have the patience to re build lathe, budget approx £600.. Size no more than 4 ft long.. I need one to make small parts from steel and Ali etc, small components for bikes ect threaded parts, spindles etc.. I have 3 phase available if req.. It's more a case of which manufactures to look for and which not to give a look..
I used lathes years ago at college etc so well rusty but will get there..
Appreciate any help..
Thank you
