Advice please . renewing driving license @70.

My license is about to expire after 10 years, I thought they write to you and let you know but it seems not

I got a letter telling me I needed to renew my license as it expired soon. Even though there was still 5 years on the date. Turned out the picture of me had expired.
I was applying for a medical driving license (annual renewal) at the time so it confused me a bit. I had to provide a new pic to apply for that, so it killed two birds with one stone.

I have all of my old licences, including the one that I got a renewal for in December.

I still have my first red licence from 1972.
