Advice on welding tubing

Hi

ive been building a new rear subframe for my mini for a while now.

its gonna use mx5 rear suspention and a honda crv rear diff.

Anyway ive started welding it up now and thought i would post a pic of some of my first propper welds on it.

I think they look ok?

Im having alittle trouble when it comes to welding in tight spaces which means i am having to keep stopping and starting and some of the welds dont look very neat.

can you get smaller shrouds for a euro torch?

They look pretty good to me. That's almost pipe-welding you are doing, so quite a difficult job if you are not used to it. Plenty of weld on, just a bit high in places, but really that is splitting hairs. Should be up to the job, which is what counts. Don't worry about neatness under there, so long as the job is good and strong, is what matters.

That looks very strong.
im going to have to make a diff cradle for my rwd project too.
you should start a project thread and put up a load of pics...unless you have and ive missed it.
as Engineer said what tubing have you used and also what thickness steel have you used for the suspension pickups?
