I am not a lathe-ist by any means so some advice is sought, I am trying to reduce the weight of my Mk2 Jaguar flywheel, I have removed the gap and mounted it on my Student, I have no real idea of what type of tool to use or what speed, I am aware that due to the large diameter of the flywheel the surface speed will be much higher than the spindle speed might suggest, I have a limited selection of tooling! I am machining the back 100% accuracy is not essential,
or maybe I need to ask someone ideally in Essex with a large lathe if they could do it for me beer vouchers offered.
You can see an E type light weight next to one like mine in this picture,
