Hi all. I have been aluminium brazing for about 12 years now at work. Now they have new work but it involves aluminium tig welding which they want me to do.
They borrowed a tig welding set for me to practice with & i got decent results.
most of the work involves 2 to 3mm stuff & i was using about 70 amps & gas flow was set at 8lpm tungston & rods were both 2.4.
Now my problems start. we now have a transtig 252. using the same size rods etc & gas flow the same as before it seems to be so much hotter even right down to 25 amps. ac balance at 70%.
Being new to all this im lost. I did notice that the regulator on the kit we borrowed had 2 gauges & the one we have now only has one which says how mucn is left.
would a double gauged reg be better for controlling the pressure or would the gas flow metre do that.
sorry for the long post
cheers
