How about an ark welder for the farm work cheap to buy up to around 300amps

let me get this straight, that's the type of welding where you have to put in your wire seperately(it's not coming out of the torch,i mean? the type of welding they do on American Chopper? love the show by the way)
Could be a challenge, to learn a new welding technique, maybe good for my future welding career...

No thats Tig, Arc is the short flux coated rods that are fixed into a hand held wand / tourch. Like this

Oh yes, i always mixe those two up... btw we already have an arc set at the farm...(don't like it to much, don't know what to do with the hand that isn't holding the torch)

thanks for the link it's really appealing like that(the cemont welders i mean)the smallest one they offer will come around329£ , wait a sec i have to check that out in euros...

600 euro seems expensive to me for the older machine, i got a Esab ac/dc tig inverter (with pulse and water cooling) for 900 (last week) (look http://jw.cautela.nl/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=3339 there) tig isn't really hard to learn, especially for you i guess (profi mig/mag welder ), but a slower process than mig. I (intend to) use tig for thicker stuff on farm equipment as well, and if that doesn't work good i'll use stick welding
