hi all - working on a bsa c15 with bantam / tiger cub hubs and hit a little snag.
The brake anchor plate on the bantam hub is slightly too short (maybe 20mm) and so there is very little horizontal adjustment available to tension the chain.
I need to extend the brake anchor arm which is a flat piece of 1/8" steel. So im thinking of letting a new piece of steel in which would require2 butt welds. Is there a preferred method of butt welding to maximise strength - e.g. diagonal rather than vertical to maximise the length of the join?
Cheers
Jim
