Hopefully someone can give some advice. I've had an Oxford Migmaker 240 for probably 5 or 6 years, though in that time its had a very easy life and had worked perfectly. But yesterday I tried to use it and it seems to be frequently cutting out and was basically unusable. Its not overheating because its happening from cold on very lower power settings.
usually pull the trigger the power and the wire feed cuts in and out. But even when you aren't pulling the trigger you can hear the fan going on and off from time to time. If the fan isn't running before you pull the trigger nothing happens at all not even the cutting in and out.
I have noticed though that if I push on the front panel slightly it stops or at least reduces the chances of it happening, and wheeling it around a bit sometimes does too, so I'm thinking something is loose. Its worth mentioning that I did eventually get the little bit of welding I wanted done when I got a few minute window where it actually worked (while I tried to make sure I didn't nudge it or do anything to upset it). At that point when it wasn't cutting out it seemed to be working totally fine. Didn't last long though.
I haven't opened it up to poke around yet because I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions of things to check on first.
