I am starting a gas bottle wood burner project and have cut the end off a calor gas bottle ready to make the door, as the bottle will lie on its side.
I want to weld a ring to the back of the door, something that looks like a large flat washer, which will then press against some fire proof rope when to door is closed to make a seal.
Hope this makes sense so far. I wondered if anyone can suggest something I can use to make the ring, or, if I have to cut it out of sheet, how would I do it? If I have to cut it myself, it will have to be done freehand. I have a jigsaw but have no idea how well they cut and what the maximum thickness is that they can go through.
Any advice welcome, even daft stuff
