The Clarkes do go down to 30 amps, if you look on the Machine Mart site, the machine spec gives the minimum. There is a budget range that Clarke do, made in China, those don’t go as low if I recall. Not sure what those are like & whether spares are readily available, I don’t know anyone with one.Again on amps, thanks to those mentioning the Clarke type machines, they keep popping up in my searches but not sure any of them go as low as 30 amps which Im led to believe is better when dealing with thinner metal.
Another thanks to all for your time, more googling ensues as now Im going to see about a larger cylinder and welder that'll start at 30amps or lower too..
