Hi guys,
I'm looking to buy a mig for home use. It will mainly be for vehicle body repairs and some light fab work, using a 13A supply but could easily upgrade to 16A if needed. I'm currently torn between the following:-
Oxford migmaker 200-1
Portamig 186s
R-Tech 180 inverter
I like the 12 step adjustment on the Oxford and Portamig units, but the infinite adjustment of the R-Tech is appealing-how reliable over the long term though?
Quality and reliability are more important than cost (within reason) and I don't need big power because if I need anything really heavy welding then I can get access to a 3ph mig at a mates workshop.
I've done plenty of welding in the past so just need a reliable set that I can turn on and go without spending hours messing about with wire feeds etc. Not interested in a Clarke or similar as I had one years ago and it ended up in a skip.
