I was stating my 'source' not saying they were correct - and as for using Wikipedia as an authoritative source (for anything), no better than any other given the ease you, I or anyone with a keyboard and an internet connection can post or edit the pages.
The Grauniad is well known for being the mouthpiece of the liberal-left, oft repeating the 'fact-free' spoutings of their donors.

Ref Regen braking. Question ( from an EV virgin) , when the car is in the braking mode do the brake lights operate or does the following vehicle have no warning ?

The brake lights operate when the brake pedal is pressed, even if most of the braking effort is regen not friction, whilst there is some regen benefit from taking your foot off the accelerator, it's not as marked as 'braking', more akin to engine deceleration, that doesn't put the brake lights on.

Yes, the brake lights operate, I think it when a certain level of braking is achieved. On the Leaf you have an e-pedal button that increases regenerative braking so the lights come on more often without touching the brake

We've been to see GD 2 or 3 times post-covid. Not a "big TV name" but the best comedy gig performer I've been to see.

On one bill, he was supporting Bill Bailey - and (while I think BB is remarkably clever & talented) GD blew BB into the weeds with his act.

Something I have noticed is brake discs don't corrode that much on the Renault EVs I've worked on.
We had a couple Kangoo's parked up for a good few months, and when they finally got moved, there was little corrosion on the discs.
Any other vehicle would likely struggle to move due to corrosion after sitting that long.
I'm guessing they're using a different spec of cast iron to minimise corrosion.

One of our managers at work has Tesla, he was reversing downhill and the brakes were making this horrible metallic squealing noise. I suggested he needed new pads, or at least have it checked. He said unlikely, the brakes hardly do anything. It sounded dire to me!

Ours has 2 modes “D” and “B” - if in D it mainly coasts. B mode is more aggressive regen braking, not quite “one pedal” driving but you can drive without really using the foot pedal.

The brake light certainly come on when regen braking, and also the first bit of pedal travel doesn’t immediately engage the mechanical brakes - press the pedal and it will use regen up to the max and only then do the mechanical brakes come on.

Edit - should add as well that the brake lights do come on even if you don’t press the pedal, when in “B” mode

I like the "e-pedal" on the leaf for that, however they have changed the feel of it a bit on the new Ariya. I prefer the Leaf., it comes to a halt if you take your foot off the accelerator long enough, the Ariya keeps creeping so you need to stick your foot on the brake, so not quite true one pedal driving anymore.

Had the pleasure of seeing him twice as well!

His “Westphalia is not an option” show was great, there was bit of repeated material between the 2 shows we saw but didn’t mind one bit!

It helped that I worked a lot for MAN over a period of about 10 years so some of the German/English stereotypes were very real to me

I try to drive smoothly, unlike Mrs Robo who stands on the brakes at the last minute, probably due to her having to deal with the cut & thrust of city driving as a bus driver.
