BOC Gasses have introduced a new gas to the market. Although from their Welding Gas Division it is not aimed at welders, but at users of plasma cutting equipment.
Traditionally plasma cutters produce a plasma from compressed air in the cutting nozzle from a high voltage discharge. The new product doesn't need the high voltage and replaces the compressed air. It can be purchased in bottles or large users can install bulk storage tanks.
The production process is secret, but BOC revealed that they have been working closely with plasma TV screen manufacturers who obtain their plasma from thunderstorms.
If you contact your local BOC depot I'm sure they'd be delighted to give you more details.
