adobe photoshop album starter edition 3.2 problem

Does anyone have an unlock code for this please ?
It was part of the software package with my laptop but I never got around to registering it. Now it's locked on a time out and is no longer supported by Adobe so I can't get an unlock code from them, this means the images that it transferred from my camera by default are now inaccessible !! I didn't select Adobe to transfer images it just assumed the job !! How daft was I to allow that ?!
Can anyone help please ?

Cant you access the files using windows explorer, the adobe software is just a means to take them of the camera and organise them, I think they will be tucked away in folder somewhere, just as .JPG images.

Just had a look in one of our old computers that had it installed, the default location for the images should be in /my documents/my pictures/adobe/

As Paul says, just associate them with a different app.
We can't have the trading of software keys on here even if the version you have is legit.

I wouldn't normally ask for software keys but this damned package has effectively nicked my images !!
I searched thoroughly for the images in other locations and some older ones are in date archived files, but the most recent are locked into Adobe !!
Although there will undoubtedly be a clause in their T & C's to allow them to deprive me of the images it is a very objectionable aspect of this software and will not endear Adobe to me in future !
I never used any of it's features, in fact it's clumsy and unnecessarily convoluted to use when all you actually need is a file location for images.
Thanks for the suggestions so far but non have unlocked it so I'm stuck unless I buy another Adobe photo package !!

Why can't you just open the images in some other application? Do you know what type of file/format these "locked" ones are in, or what is the filename extension? Would be surprised if it wasn't something universal, JPG or RAW. It'd be the camera that decides what image format it uses.

If you can't access these pictures directly it may be worth installing "picasa" it's free and should find all of the pictures on your hard drive to display and or edit them.

They have to exist in a file somewhere, some sort of archive or bundle. The software would extract them from that. The prog will store that in some standard location, poss within it's folder in "program files" folder, or poss in the "application data" area.
It may be a proprietary one in which case there may be little chance of opening it, but I was thinking if it's some standard format there might be a way of getting in there, and if you know what it was I might find something.

Of course they're not! Software won't 'lock' files unless they're unique to it. All it will do is take over the opening of the files, you're free to change that anytime you wish.
Go into the control panel and, 'default programs' (or just click start in windows 7 and it's on the right of the popup) then go to windows photo viewer, choose default options and tell it you want to make it the default program for opening your picture files....job done!

Did quick search - the prog doesn't touch original image files at all. What it does it create a catalogue(s) of them.
It doesn't 'lock' pics, archive or bundle them or do anything else to them. Everything it does is entirely 'external' to the original pics. According to an internet somewhere, but a reliable one.
It may be possible to delete original pics from within the software, as well as delete a pic's entry in an album. Our old cam software could do that.

Well if they're not locked they are invisible !
They are not in any Adobe file, my pictures, any other picture file I've created or any other file I can see. They are visible in the adobe screen that I see when it's asking me to enter an unlock code though, but I can't select them.
I had a quick google at home earlier and it seems quite a few users have had the same problem and the only recourse seems to be throw yourself at the mercy of Adobe's support line. I'll give that a go tomorrow.

Just go to the drive you think they're on, enter .jpg in the search box and hit enter. When the search results come up and you can see one of the pics you want, simply right-click and 'open containing folder'.
Hey presto, now you know where they are.

Simples.
