Can you recall what number you used, and was it a steel or alloy part? (the bit that you were sticking to the GRP)

why not fit a non sunroof roof panel , sell your one to recoup some expense ?

Id guess because undamaged landrover roof panels fetch a premium, to all the people who damaged theirs offroad already...
90 roof in decent condition near me, over 1000e, 130 same. Then you have the grief of collecting something large and flat and flexi when its off the vehicle and transporting it without damaging it.

I am in the same boat as julian, except my sunroof is in the rear of my 90, and was a old household wood framed double glazed window. Someone had fitted it as a gun shooting hatch.
I've put off fixing it for years, but since I put a new chassis under it, its time so this thread is interesting to me too.

Sikaflex used to be the stuff to use, in boats nowadays we just use whatever PU we can get locally.

This stuff is pretty damn good.

Panel bond would be my choice.

3m do an amazing one which is Thatcham insurance repair body approved at sticking cars back together.

It's a 2part structural adhesive.

I spoke to Sika re gluing solar panels on my motor home
They reccomended 544, just checked out of the window and they are still on, its fantastic stuff, they do reccomend using 205 Activator with it but it will never come off easily in future.

Sika 522 would also be suitable not quite as strong but great bonding and sealing properties and easy to buy, Garavan repair places use it as it seals and bonds in one operation, it kept some of my tatty old ones water tight

Sika 252 is more than required for what your after, I've used it on all manner of repairs where sticking things back together and forming a seal was required, usually on caravans and trailers where a mix of things are involved, steel, aluminium and plastics.
