At long last I’ve got my 4rse into gear and bought a sheet of 5mm polycarbonate to replace the tailgate window on my L200. My question is, what should I use to stick it in with? I know Sikaflex 265 is used as an oem adhesive for car windscreens, but does anybody know if it works ok on polycarbonate? Or is there something better?
Also, once I have it stuck down I want to apply a dark tinting film, mainly to hide the area where the glued bit will be, but also to match the other rear windows. Does the collective mind know if tinting film that is intended for glass will stick ok?
I have emailed suppliers/manufacturers of both the above products with these questions, but annoyingly neither have replied, so I thought I’d ask the professionals instead!
