Just wish we had some one round here doing it too. I can get bottles filled by the local brewers gas supplier realy cheap but want to use proper welding gas.
I wanted to get Argon from them, but they said the filler is producing poor quality Argon at the moment, and that I will be contacted when its ready TIG arrives tomoro, no gas to play with.
Absoloutely regulation yes, but Brussels have recently thrown a spanner in the works changing colour codes. For example, Industrial Oxygen cylinders in the UK were always black & Medical Oxygen cylinders (which is 99.9% pure) were black with a white band around the collar of the cylinder. Brussels, in their infinate wisdom, has now decided that Industrial Oxygen cylinders should now have a white band around the neck So, how long before somebody who is supposed to be on medical oxygen is given industrial oxygen.

There isn't any common sense in Brussles! Armies of them sit around huge tables (exotic wood from non-sustainable forrests) scratching their heads (after their £140 'signing-in' fee for the day) thinking "What can we dream up today". Cucumbers not straight enough, Neil Kinnocks missus should get a rise (her £1200 a month 'stationery allowance' isn't enough!) blah, blah blah.
I should shut up & go to bed, sorry!

I have no idea about regulation on cylinders, but its absolutely GREEN with no other colours, it does have a sticker on it showing whats in it. The re test collar saids : re test 2017 I heard it was 5 years.
I just used the gas and the welds seem ok. The bead appears slightly wider than the disposable, but the surface appearance is identical, so i'm quite please. Its worth it.
Weldequip.... On the regulator received today, The cylinder pressure reading is fine, only the flow rate i'm not sure how to read properly. When I set to 10L on the guage as soon as I press the trigger it drops to zero, it still flows ok, just want to know however how to make sure its at the flow rate I want.
The flow rate needs to be set when the gas is flowing (hence 'flow' ) so set it at 10Lpm with your torch trigger pressed & gas coming through. The needle will creep up when the torch trigger is off, but will drop down again to the 10Lpm setting as soon as you start welding.
