I did consider it but it covering the problem up which doesn't sit well. If it was in good condition I wouldn't hesitate to use it.

Around Christmas time Opie Oils had a sale on 'out of date' ACF50, but I just checked and they don't have any stock left. Might be worth keeping an eye on it for the future.
I'm not sure what component goes out of date, but I suspect it's fine for DIY use still.

I was told that Vaseline was the stuff for that !its great for those intimate moments too
you just put a light dusting where its needed and it will work wonders for your '' married life ''
put it on the door knob and it keep the kids out of the bedroom

Of course it washes off easily, it's just a tacky oily film. If it's used in exposed areas then it needs to be regularly reapplied. It's marketed as being used on external helicopter parts, which makes sense where you need something thin, that will penetrate into all the parts, and will stay on better than WD40 or plain oil. ACF50 fits that bill.
ACF50 alone won't rust proof the car. It's useful in places where you cant apply paint or wax, or you need the penetration or thin film.
The question to me is: is ACF50 better than generic tacky lubricant? Or is it just repurposed tacky lube, overpriced due to marketing hype?
The goods news is that you dont need much of it. I bought a 2l bottle yonks ago, I've done a car restoration, buggy build, and general car maintenance since and still have half of it left.

I wire brushed the subframe on my GTO last year, treated it with Dynax UB (brushed / stippled it on) and it still looks good.
It has rust inhibitors built in and if it does get stone chipped the water doesn't wick under the rest of it (like normal underseal).
I have a bottle of ACF-50, that might end up as internal treatment for my sills etc.
What they neglect to tell you is that in the aviation world it's reapplied every xxx flying hours. And every time they fly over a salty environment they get a fresh water wash on landing and a reapplication.
Brilliant if you want to get under your car every couple of weeks to wash it and reapply. Probably not so good in my opinion if you want to spray it on once a year and hope it'll last untill next year.
I'd happily use it anywhere that is protected (inside sills, under the bonnet, any cavity, even behind splash guards) but I wouldn't expect much protection anywhere that is exposed to spray where it will get washed off and road salt etc.

If you buy it in non aerosol bottle then the price is reasonable and it's plenty useful. It comes with a squirty bottle .
I don't know, I'd think the ACF may act as a lubricant and the Dynax wouldn't stick to the metal?.
For me a good wire brushing first the Dynax UB has done the trick.
On fresh repairs Epoxy Primer is my first coat.

Just a fyi bilt hamber do a clear underbody coating. I use it as I want to be able to see any rust spots starting and deal with them rather than covering up the rust. Really good stuff it had stopped my sprinter van( famed for rusting faster (or as fast) as any of British layland’s finest) from rising underneath.
I believe that is Bilt Hamber Dynax-UC.
