Bit late to the discussion but if I was starting from scratch now I would be tempted to buy a hit box or similar on a credit card. The important thing would be to have everything ready to test the hell out of the machine immediately.
Have the gas and extra collets, rods, cups, tungstens and material ready and waiting to go. Weld like mad while you're super enthusiastic from the date of receipt.
New welding machines tend to fail early if there is a problem. If you can get a few hours welding into the machine it will probably last. The main thing is not to buy something and leave it sat in the box for weeks.
If the machine fails or you're not happy for good reason then send it back asap. Otherwise, happy days.
