I put in a bid of £26 a day or two before i decided to do the decent thing and buy a new Portamig. So when i remmebered i had a bid going on, 'No worries' i thought, it will go for more than £26. Bound to. Well of course i "won" it, and it arrived today, looking a little the worse for wear. Pull the trigger the wire come out then slows down to a crawl after a second. The old Rusty wire syndrome i assume ? So i hope with some new wire, maybe a new liner and tips, a wash and brush up, it will be okayish. I plan to show my brother my shiny new Portamig, and all the wonders it works. Then casually mention i have an old Sip model in the shed, he can have for £50.
Before im slagged off for ripping off my brother, the extra is only what i will have to spend on a new liner, tips and a small bottle of gas to try it out. All of which any new owner would have to do. Anyway i have to try and get him interested in the black art, as he has a bigger garden than us and a larger garage (though equally full of junk) And i will need a space for my new project car this spring
