ac/dc which one???

hi all

iv been looking at tig welders for some time now and although i like to buy a decent tool first time round so i dont have to replace it the second time i use it i cant help myself by being attracted to some of the ebay specials...which iv actually heard some good things about

my first choice would be a 200 amp ac/dc r-tech i think

but iv been looking at another one called tigmig thats from italy and in all fairness it looks pretty similar and is half the price

there are cheaper ones than that like the yellow wse i think it is but they look total ***** even though i have actually had them recommended to me

so what im asking is if anyone can recommend a decent ac dc tig welder for around £500 like the italian ones on ebay or even if anyone has any experience of the italian tigmig ones???

They might look similar but ask whats inside. Is it Siemens?? I purchased an R-Tech Tig 201 a year ago and I liked it so much I took advantage of the 6 months interest free they are now offering to get the pro Mig 250 and its stunning. Check out the warranty before you make a decision. 2 years collect and return warranty shows how much they rate their own machines.

I dont think you will get an r-tech Ac/Dc for 500 quid though.

Unfortuately the combination of 200amp with ac/dc and quality so you only buy once is unlikely for £500 when buying new,
I think you'll need to double your budget to around to around £1000 and then the likes of R-Tech, Thermal arc and Parweld etc will all be available and more likely to last longer, better warranty and with more features so you probably wont need to upgrade later.
