AC/DC TIG Parweld????

I know this is a much covered subject but will ask anyway as have done alot of reading up but still not quite decided.

I have about a grand (maybe upto 1500) to spend on a ac/dc tig, it is my first tig and dont want to buy another in a years time.

When i bought my MIG a few years back i bought a TEC ARC 210 and am very pleased with it. I want a TIG that i will be equally happy with.

My Budget can be stretched a bit providing it is really worth it, as said maybe upto 1500.

I have also searched and a few on here seem to think GYS are good, some reviews (albeit now a few years old) wern't so sure of GYS. Plus I think £1500 wouldnt include a pedal for the GYS 207.

Lastly anyone know of which company are likely to do the best priced deal, every little helps...

Never used jaisic but 5 year warrenty for an industrial box of electronics would be apealing to me.

The parweld is very well thought of,it's virtually the same as the thermalarc 202 but slightly different pulse settings I believe.

I would go for a Tec Arc, as very good support, and has been upgraded improved in the UK. However there is a TA202 listed on Ebay at the moment, done four hours work from new, and currently stands at £500............might be worth a look?

Parweld XTI 202 is very nice, had some play time at work the other day and thoroughly enjoyed using it. The only thing bad about it was the fact that the AC is unusually loud compared to other AC/DC TIG's [maybe just me]

A grand will get you the machine, Parweld pro grip WP26 with on torch amperage control & foot pedal.

The GYS 207 is a beauty, and i'm sure a foot pedal could be thrown into the mix in a deal worth £1500 all in.

Just trying to work out whether an extra £500 on top of the definate £1000 will make the difference?? I have heard/read a lot of good things about the Parweld so am thinking its probably at the top of list at the moment (unless there is a very good reason to buy the GYS, in which case I may go for this).

Listen to Tom mate he knows his stuff. The Gys are superb machines made in France. I have the 220 Ac/DC tig

The gys is a nicer unit all round. IMO. Smaller and more portable,built to a slightly better standard. I've not used a parweld but I have the thermal arc which is near on the same unit and I found it very good for the low cost. On AC it was noisy but some just are, the important thing is stability which I though it was very good at this point. They ain't gonna perform with 3k units but they will do all you ask of them very well.
