Ok so there is the noise factor I'll agree with that but the real beauty of fan on demand is the fact it's not wasting electricity running fans for no good reason and it's not sucking dust in from the moment you fire it up.The Welder is Fan on Demand, but the cooler is not.
What i meant was i bought the 210 for the Fan on Demand so it was quiet, And then went and bought the cooler thats always noisy
It's very important you don't turn off the machine while the fans are running. Let it finish it's cooling cycle properly and the fans cut out before powering down.

It's beyond my clever capabilities I'm afraid. It would need to be sent a signal from the arc initiation.
Mine has got a circuit board inside and it plugs into the welder via a 10 pin plug and a 3 pin separate plug for mains voltage. I doubt it's a simple thing to do but others would know better than me.

It's quite safe to have the cooler cut out a short while after welding. Again having that pump and fan running all day is just wasting energy and drawing dust towards your kit. In fairness dust doesn't hurt cooler but cleaner is always nicer. You only need the cooler to over run for a couple of minutes to cool the torch head down after use. Anything more is pretty wasteful.Its more than likely stuck on fan all the time for a reason

Ya I understand I'd like to see the instead of the Chinese ones, they might be stuck on because of less efficient heat transfer. Its only a thermostat and relay needed to do it.

I don't think that matters. It's a pump a rad and a fan. The cooler only needs to cool the torch then it can be shut down. It won't cause any harm at all so long as it over runs by a couple of mins to cool the torch properly
Not even used the machine yet, waited a week for the coolant to arrived, finally got it all "up and running". Was just about to strike an arc and i noticed the power cord sweating coolant...quick call to R-Tech to discover the torch had been plumbed incorrect...Nice of them however to ship a new, correctly plumbed torch for 9am delivery on a saturday. hopefully Monday i can finally use this machine!

That's not a bad thing really. The head been a little stiffer might mean it's less floppy.
I hate flex necks with a passion. I've bust more of them than I care to think about and find them pretty flimsy. It costs some serious brass but the best torch I've ever come across is the ball joint from weldtec. All the angles you'll ever need from a flex neck and none of there awful trade offs. Once you use one you'll never want anything else. Mines awesome. Eye watering price though.
Well, the new torch went Pop today, this is the one they sent me to replace the one that was plumbed incorrectly.
Halfway through a weld and it started pouring fluid through the cup into the puddle. Nice.
Called them up straight away, New Air-Cooled WP17 arriving tomorrow AM to keep me going whilst they look into why the torch failed and build me a replacement.
2 Issues within 2 weeks. But they have been good about replacements.
Its about this point i should maybe consider sending the unit back, But i love the unit, does everything exactly the way i want it to, works the way i want. Even love the Re-Call program feature so i don't have to manually re-set the settings between AC and DC.
I would of took it on the chin if i had been welding alloy at 210 amps for a long period of time, but at the time of failure i was welding some 1.6 walled stainless tubing at 40 amps...

Why don’t you ask them to knock the price of the torch off the unit and go and buy yourself a good one.
You’ve got a nice pedal so why don’t you couple it up with a nice ck20 or sw320. Well worth the investment. Cheap nasty torches are just a pita. It’s the bit you have to hold and be completely comfortable with so it’s the most important bit to get right.

Giz seriously...... don’t ask them to supply your torch. Ask them to knock it off the bill. They are clearly cheap nasty things. take it seriously and don’t be so tight. get a proper one with silicon hoses, leather sheath and quality made materials. It will improve your welding just from the added comfort and reduced weight.
