ok I need a lot of welding done on my van, even though its only 10yo, ldv made in England lol.
my son has told me if I buy one he will learn to use it and fix van for me,
how good or bad is this please price is right,

Welcome to the forum:

Normally I and most other members would tell you to save your money and buy a decent hobby set such as a Clarke or GYS or if the budget allowed one of the other more expensive machines, Wolf have never been well liked.

However this member posted earlier in the week:

Obviously they appear happy with the machine but I do wonder if they had anything to compare it against.

Hi Hugh. Wolf machines are below the lowest of the low. It's not even a hobby machine. It's not even cheap. (For what it is).

I have nevet tried one of these though

To be fair if its for one job there should be a welding equip supplier that could hire you someyhing very decent over a month or so

You may already be aware of this, but there's a significant cost to be considered in buying basic tools to do the job, such as an angle grinder, gas, welding mask, gauntlets etc.

I accept that it isn't impossible that things may have changed, but until I hear a lot of reports to suggest this is so I would run a mile from a Wolf or SIP MIG, it's worth spending a little extra as they can be awful to use, which is bad enough for those with experience but for somebody starting out, it's a set back that really isn't needed.
