@skotl So now it's a case of...............
No ...he needs to crack on with the welding he was doing. Thats what the temp replacement is for.

Yep - still waiting for a response, but the pressure is off somewhat given that I have a brand new MTS255 sitting in the garage.Skotl, I had to have my promig250-1 returned to R-Tech under warranty the end of February. Like you, I got a swift response from Dan on their tech side and he diagnosed the fault over the phone to be a fault on the main PCB. Machine collected by UK mail on the Tuesday (mix up courier end delayed it) and I had the machine returned on the Friday lunchtime.
Hopefully you'll have the welder back for the weekend.
R-Tech warranty is definitely worth the extra the machines cost. Their customer service is 2nd to none and they know their product inside out.
I did not realise it was that expensive for the warranty, I had it in mind it was around the £40 a year mark, no idea where I got that figure from, perhaps it's scaled to the value of the machine and £40 is for a basic MMA.Yep - still waiting for a response, but the pressure is off somewhat given that I have a brand new MTS255 sitting in the garage.
Meanwhile, got an automated email from them yesterday offering me the extended warranty at £180 for 2 years
Yeah - the unit was around £900 including VAT so at £180 it's worth considering.I did not realise it was that expensive for the warranty, I had it in mind it was around the £40 a year mark, no idea where I got that figure from, perhaps it's scaled to the value of the machine and £40 is for a basic MMA.
If you were running a business with it then fair enough, for hobby use though

Let me be the first to congratulate you.Didn't I say it was input rectification fault
Let me be the first to... oh darn...Didn't I say it was input rectification fault
Absolutely! Well put.....so in summary, the R-Tech warranty stands up to it's sound reputation, another happy R-Tech user who's happy to pay the extra over the same, non badged product?
they are standard push fit connectors, they may just want the pipe pushing home, or push the blue collar on the fitting towards the body and pull on the pipe and it'll come out, no tools required, if its damaged and is long enough cut a bit off it and shove it back in the fitting, or replace it with a new piece, looks like 6mm, but check first, its easy enough to get hold of.

As above, probably just not pushed home. They're harder to push fully in whilst under pressure. Best to depressurise, depress the ring, remove, inspect and reinsert.
Further too r techs legendary warranty, has anybody much experience of their repairs/costs outside the warranty period?
Just curious as I have a few of their machines that are many years past warranty. Just wondered whether they live up to their economical component level pcb repair claims
