I lent a grinder to a "friend", after many months he denied having it then asked to borrow an electric drill as the 13mm drill bit he bought would not fit the 10mm chuck on his drill. I went round to see my grinder pride of place on his wall so I kept quiet quiet and let him use the drill to do what he needed and told him I would turn the shank on his new bit down to 10mm for him. As I was leaving I took the grinder off the wall and the argument started, cut short when I pointed out my engraved initials where you would not look. I never did turn his drill bit down and nor did he ask for it!
A friend of mine has been in the Jampot Club for years, he currently has an AJS bitsa modified to a bobber, I will see if I can find the photos.
idid mine on a,borrowed trials cub with a draggin clutchtook my test on a Tiger Cub, post war the original pistons were wire wound, they had a less clearance in the bore,
They look great, though I can never understand building a rigid framed bike after hitting potholes on an original rigid bike and wearing a kidney belt for longer trips.I found the AJS photos, and a BSA 441 Flat Tracker one of the other chaps built as someone will notice it in t background.

I am yet to get my Fathers Nimbus out and ride it for the first time, I remember following him bouncing up & down on the saddle going for the first Mot in 1982!![]()
I rode around 100 miles yesterday on my 1926 Model M, took plenty of pain killers first, and some after, nice day out, nothing broke! nothing fell off! old picture, Italian rally from memory!
I found the AJS photos
I am the other way round, the winged M of the Matchless and red pinstripes just pip the Blue AJS for me.There is something about the look of the Ajay, the black tank and lining and the logo that I find beautiful. It's an interesting hybrid but has a lot of the trigger points for me.
Nimbus.... that is a very interesting motorcycle -any pics? Have always admired them.I am yet to get my Fathers Nimbus out and ride it for the first time, I remember following him bouncing up & down on the saddle going for the first Mot in 1982!![]()
