a stupid question

hello i'm new to the forum and im as green as they come to welding,
i have a Transmig 400 HD, i lost the manuals and with no training in Mig welding im blind to what to do, i started welding as hobby with some of my friends and we started trying to Mig weld, with out the proper manual and information we are just burning wires and the weld just doesnt stick.

my question is about shielding gasses, its gassed used to shield the wire from 0xigen right, so what happens if we use oxigen as primary shielding gas? thanks

thanks, we debated that the oxigen was the problem, but wasnt really sure. one myth confirmed .

You need CO2 or argon/co2 mix gas, how many tips have you melted ?
