I'm having a number of issues with my Dads old Clarke 120, It just needs stripping down and servicing I've made a number of improvments, but It has fits and starts making welding rather difficult and often looking rubbish as it decides to adjust its wire speed. (Dirty pot I reckon)
I have a job only a small one not many long welds i could stick weld it (find it much easier and reliable than the mig) but i would like a tig. Most of what i do is small mild steel jobs often very seen welds and a small amount of rollcage welding. I just wondering if I would regret something like a thermal arc 175te i had a go with one and thought it was lovely. I would probably go rtech 160dc tig only because of the finance. Ali i don't really do much and can just o/a the small amounts I do.
Also I have a 150/1 old Clarke maybe ferm? Is it worth recommissioning it I swap for some labour do they weld well?
Sorry for so many questions cheers.
