a quick question for the landrover bods

i seem to have gained this landrover rear hard top thing and the rear door. think i have a few seats or two by the looks of things aswell.its been in the yard at my unit for aslong as i can remember and its become my problem to get it gone as the landlord has his monkeys down tidying up.

im clever enough to know its off a landrover but know there are loads of variants 88,90,110 etc so is it worth me trying to sell or should i just weigh it in. if i sell it how do i work out what it fits. what would it be worth? i tried to look on ebay but only really found freelander stuff.

Fits Landrover 90. It's the earlier type with ribbed roof so not as popular or saleable as the later smooth roof.

Front edge above windscreen is higher than on series motors and side length is different so suit the back body tub.

Now may be the time to sell to a soft top owner wanting a bit of extra weather protection in the winter.

You should do better than scrap price if you stick it on ebay, but remember the sellers fees.

If the sliding side windows still move freely that should add a bit to the desirability and price. The sides should fit under smooth roof as well.

well the cut out at the front for the windscreen to fit into tells you its a defender as opposed to series landrover, shortness tells you its 90 not 110, and the ribs on the roof tell you its an early one probably around a b/c reg from the colour,
was a time when it would be worth £400 or more but things have moved on and plenty about for sale now

Yeah like been said,Id say its off a 1985 year or there abouts going by the ribs and greencolour.If the back door is rust free you'll probably get £50 or so for it?it will fit a series 2/2a up to the 90/110's(you can buy them new with glass quite cheap nowadays though)

Would be surprised if a series owner bought it, Series ones go v.cheap / free. Bought one for £1, couldn't give it away, so chopped it up. Everything with "Defender" on it seems to cost more, so it might sell.

When did Defenders end up with Alpine windows as standard? I'm assuming they're retrofitted in this case.

A brand new glazed door is £99.95 - undercoat's not the smoothest, but for the money I'm not complaining. Rear wheel carrier did for mine initially - subsequent rot finished the job and given the cost I didn't think it worth repairing.

Haveing looked on a bigger screen its not a cat flap top door but a safari door so no good for me. Still interested in sides/ windows
