Should have chopped the head of coils of with cold chisel , then pulled coils out the other side , copper is a good price !!!Got Ed to check out the motor and he said it was plucked or something like it, he is welsh and I didn't believe him so I took a peep inside.

Not certain about air, but for water pumps far more efficent to run both at the same speed..ie 2 vsd
Does that switch start and stop the motor as well as select the speed, or is there a seperate start/stop control?
Did both red and black sets of motor wires connect to the switch?
Yes Dave, all the blacks numbered 1-3 were in a row, all the reds from the motor were in another row on the switch, the incoming lives were all in another row, the suds pump was piggy backed on the reds from/to the motor.

Pretty hard to smelt copper as it's not an ore, it'll melt just fine though.Lots of copper in those motors and you can smelt that just as easily.
In this case the terminals which the blacks were connected to will be connected to three phases whenever the saw is turning at either speed.
I asked if there was a seperate start/stop control as if there is then, assuming this controls the feed to the speed switch, you could connect the pump to the incoming terminals of the speed switch.
