A new welder needed mma

My old welder looks as if it will have to go the journey,so a new one is needed,it will be used around the farm inside and out,and I generally just use 3.2 rods.
I have read a few threads and these are the narrowed down choices oerlikon mini arc 4,(perhaps the best choice) but would the little kempii evo 150 run 3.2 for sensible amount of time,or should i give the the tec arc a go(200)
Opinions please

The dual voltage should be handy for outside use and it has a decent duty cycle which implies its reasonably reliable.

I've had one of their mid-range DC TIG welders for over a year now and it's performed very well and their customer service seems very good.

Having said that I doubt you will go very far wrong with any machine from a decent UK based seller, MMA machines are pretty simple so its really down to reliability/warrenty.

lincoln do a good range of mma welders for reasonable money, and lorch have a really nice looking 150amp arc, 160amp tig one for about the same money as the kemppi 150 evo but with a better duty cycle (40% at 150 for the lorch 35% at 140 for the kemppi) both will be nice machines though of course, i'm no expert in inverter arcs though

Given the choice is it a toss of the coin between a
Kempii 150 minarc and a lorch handy 160?

I have been using a Lorch H150 for a couple of years on farm type repairs and it has been fine. It usually ends up running off a couple of extension leads with no problems at all on 3.2 rods.

I haven't used the Kemppi but do have one of the minarc migs.....if their stick set is a similar quality it could be a tricky choice between it and the lorch as they are both pretty good.

bought the kempii,1st go different league to my old one!!!
(strikes the arc better and the rods seemed to burn a lot better with a different sound)looking forward to using it a bit more.

10 3,2 rods in a raw is ok with the kempii also it burns 7018 better than others,good choice!!
