They haven't sold 1000s over the years and stayed in the business by selling products which are clearly no damned good and are unusable.

Charkes last years and perform well. The old 135's are quite sought after.

I'd ignore the Clarke hate, they weld well and the range is good enough for body and chassis work

I have a Clarke 135 TE, it's a cracking little machine, use it as a hobby machine and it's great, expect it to weld 6mm plate all day long and its rubbish.

If I recall correctly, the previous owners of the Wolf marque, as used for welders, went through three or four years back and the present hopefuls bought the name. This is hardly staying in business over the years.
SIP have stayed in business over years and don't sell products which are no damned good and are unusable, however, I for one wouldn't argue with anyone who contended that much better value was to be had elsewhere.
