Great bikes, even with the new version they still hold good money. I’ve seen non-runners go for more than £2200. Mint can go for £7.5+. More than a used new one. I did think about buying a new one, before my hip problem, but they seem to be problematic.

So time someone else enjoyed it.

Aye, there's been a strong Police presence in the villages this week [we normally seldom see them] - responding to complaints about speeding through, and have turned a few back to hence they came.

Marked X5 BMW, 2 off marked BMW bikes and an unmarked car of some sort - prossibly a 3 series BMW but last one I was aware of was a Volvo estate.

And...we've seen a very few midges, not enough to worry about as it's been windy and they don't like that - they will be lurking though

I lost too many of the rocker cover caps from my Bonneville. In the end I drilled a small hole right at the edge of each cap and wired them together.

There was an urban myth that Triumph employed a bloke to use his size 12 boots to align the exhaust tail pipes and also the front mudguard.

It was really only a size 10 ,,,

I had an export model 750 Bonnie back in the 80's, with the electric start on. It ruined the profile of one of the best looking motorcycle engines ever produced, plus it didn't work, so I changed the timing cover for a proper one.

Previous owner had done a rebore, but it rattled like hell, so after five mines of ownership I pulled the top end off....and found a stock piston in one 0.020" oversize bore......

Got a proper piston, assembled it, using the correct kit of horrendously modified spanners and such forth , ride it a bit more, didn't like it, swapped it for a Kawasaki 750.

Yep the theory was that was the Americans doing, as they were trying to protect Harley from foreign competition. But i believe if you swap out the exhaust cam on the 750's, they wake up no end. But the OIF bikes were always ugly to me. The last of the pre-units were stunning looking things.
