Every so often the Youtube algo throws up something really fascinating.
Tonight it was a painting restoration that covers ground that is surprisingly close to what many of us do (or at least ask questions about). Everything from paint and substrates, to glues and solvents, fixings and even a kind of (canvas) welding.
There's even a bit of table saw and router action!
It's also a really soothing watch...
The two most amazing things to me are 1) how roughly you can treat a canvas painting without damaging it (in the restoration process) and 2) just how bad the original failed resto was - pretty sure that if I got out my old airfix paints I could have done better than the first guy!
